Iowa Clinic Physicians and Employees Go To The EXTREME! On Saturday, May 14th, more than 140 volunteers from The Iowa Clinic rolled up their sleeves, grabbed their tools, and went to work for a good cause. It was all part of a one day Extreme Makeover of the Mae E. Davis Free Medical Clinic in Valley Junction. “Several Iowa Clinic physicians volunteer their time at the free clinic, so we were very aware of the need for renovations,” said Dr. Jon Hade, chairman of The Iowa Clinic Healthcare Foundation. The group of volunteers painted inside and out, installed new carpet and ceiling tiles, stripped and waxed the floors, installed cabinetry, landscaped and much more. “Everyone worked very hard. I’m so proud of all of the employees, physicians and business partners that gave up their Saturday to help us make this event such a success.”
The Extreme Makeover is one of the first big community projects for The Foundation. “The project was certainly a hallmark moment for The Iowa Clinic Healthcare Foundation,” said Edward Brown, CEO of The Iowa Clinic, P.C. “We continue to receive thanks and accolades from community leaders as well as neighbors near the clinic. The impact of this project will be long lasting.”
Money used to pay for this project was raised at the First Annual Open Mic Night on October 29, 2004 and through the generous donations of Iowa Clinic Employees and Physicians.
