Microphlebectomy

Microphlebectomy involves the removal of individual veins through a series of very small incisions with specialized specialized instruments. This is done under local anesthesia and is typically used on varicose veins at or near the skin’s surface. The incisions are closed with a special strip. Microphlebectomy may be used in conjunction with sclerotherapy or EVLT to treat any remaining varicose veins.

The advantages of Microphlebectomy are permanent vein removal with virtually no scarring, no skin discoloration or ulcers. Unfortunately, not all veins can be treated this way.
