- “I'm fine.” Health issues such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure often don't have symptoms. In fact, one-third of all people who have a heart attack never have any warning. Annual preventive health checks can detect, treat, and potentially cure problems early.
- “It'll go away.” There are plenty of symptoms you simply cannot shake off. Denying their presence can lead to a devastating illness, disease, or even death.
- “It's awkward.” If you think it's uncomfortable to get a medical exam, imagine how you'll feel if you have a serious illness that you could have prevented in the first place.
- “I don't have time.” Michael Boring, 61, says, “The Iowa Clinic is set up to be as quick, easy, and painless as possible. Everything is right there; I didn't even have to go to another floor. My wait times have been minimal and a complete physical has never taken much over an hour.”
