About Stephanie Alcorn, ARNP
Stephanie Alcorn, ARNP joined The Iowa Clinic Urogynecology Department after years of experience in Women's Health. Over the years she’s practiced in an independent OB/GYN clinic, as well as in high-risk maternity for a hospital. She chose The Iowa Clinic because of our multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. She believes it’s important to have all these disciplines under one roof as it allows for more collaborative care and more effective communication between providers.
Coming from a family of medical professionals, Stephanie’s passion for healthcare, in particular women’s health, came about at an early age. While a nursing student, she discovered midwifery and became certified in 2016, but has chosen to focus her attention on general Women's Health, making Urogynecology a great fit. Women’s Health allows her to build long-term relationships with her patients, something she finds very rewarding. She also enjoys educating patients about their health/conditions and witnessing their lives improve.
Stephanie’s compassion extends beyond people, as she and her family are involved with the local greyhound adoption group, Heartland Greyhound Adoption. They own and foster retired racing greyhounds and she serves on their board of directors.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys reading, watching football and hockey, as well as spending time with her husband, kids, and of course her three dogs and cat.
