Patient and Visitor Screenings

Please read important updates about COVID-19. General coronavirus (COVID-19) questions? Please call 2-1-1.

Patient and Visitor Screenings

All Iowa Clinic locations have implemented the following safety precautions:

  • Patients are discouraged from bringing more than one visitor unless absolutely necessary
  • All patients and visitors will be screened for fever and lower respiratory symptoms upon entry in all locations. If you exhibit any of these symptoms or if you have either tested positive for COVID-19 or have been tested and are awaiting test results, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment for a later date.
  • Building entrances at our West Lakes location will be limited to three – north (Entrance 1), south (Entrance 4, Urgent Care) and east (Entrance 3)

Appointments and Care

  • For routine well-check and preventative care appointments, we are strongly encouraging those patients over 70 years old and patients over 60 years old with co-morbidities (diabetes, hypertension, lung disease, immunosuppression) to postpone these visits for at least four weeks. Visits for necessary care are still acceptable.
  • Elective procedures and routine screenings such as mammograms, physicals and colonoscopy procedures may be postponed. We are working on communicating to patients this may affect.

The Iowa eClinic

Patients are encouraged to use The Iowa eClinic for virtual visits whenever possible. The Iowa eClinic is also available via The Iowa Clinic mobile app. Read more about what qualifies for an eVisit.
