Pediatric Services and Treatments

Your pediatrician is one of the most trusted and helpful resources you have as a parent. From the days after birth to the day your child comes of age, your pediatrician is there through every illness, immunization and injury. Our team of pediatric physicians is here to help you through every step of your child’s growth and development.

Well Child Check-Ups

Starting with their first check-up in the maternity suite, your child has a series of appointments throughout their childhood. These check-ups are essential in establishing a medical history for your child and tracking critical developmental milestones. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) periodicity schedule for well child care visits at the following ages:

  • 3–5 days
  • 1 month
  • 2 months
  • 4 months
  • 6 months
  • 9 months
  • 12 months
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 24 months
  • 30 months
  • 3–21 years (annually)

These routine well child checks track your kid’s growth, development and health — both physically and mentally. It’s also a time for you to ask questions and make your pediatrician aware of any concerns. And, most importantly, well child checks include preventative medicine to help keep your child healthy and avoid disease.

Childhood Immunizations

Immunizations help prevent illness. Childhood vaccinations are a proven tool for protecting against many common, severe diseases. We follow the vaccination schedule recommended by the AAP to help your child build immunity and provide protection for you, your family and others against life-threatening illnesses.

School and Sports Physicals

Annual physicals are often required for kids at any age to participate in daycare, school or sports. Our Pediatrics team strives to prioritize physicals before each new school year with convenient scheduling options all summer long. We also accommodate appointments for physicals prior to a new sports season, or any other time throughout the year that your child needs a physician’s sign-off for participation.

Same-Day, Pediatric Urgent Care

As your child grows up, you start to see your pediatrician more often when they are ill than when they are well. We offer same-day appointments for all pediatric patients, similar to what you can expect in an Urgent Care clinic. So you can expect an accurate diagnosis the day of your visit, whether it’s through a physical examination or one of the many lab tests we perform in our office:

  • Glucose screening
  • Lipid screening
  • CBC
  • Urine analysis
  • Mono test
  • Influenza test
  • Strep test
  • Bilirubin test

Of course, you can always call your local Pediatrics clinic and talk to a doctor or nurse. We always have someone on call so you have answers — day or night — for immediate and after-hours concerns with your child’s health.

Prenatal Consults

Care for your child starts on day one. A pediatrician is one of the first physicians to examine and provide care in the first week of life. In order to have this initial in-hospital check-up, you need to visit your pediatrician before your baby is born.

The AAP recommends all expectant parents schedule a prenatal consult in the third trimester. This appointment helps build the trust and relationship that are key to caring for your child, especially in the early years. This relationship will help you feel comfortable sharing any physical or emotional concerns, so your pediatrician can address them early on.

At your visit, your pediatrician will provide tips for bringing home your baby, outline expectations for the early weeks and address any concerns you have about caring for a newborn.
