The Iowa Clinic Family Medicine physicians and advanced practice providers, located in Central Iowa, pride themselves on providing the best immediate and routine health care in the area. This includes diagnosing, treating and curing acute and/or chronic illnesses for patients young and old. Currently, The Iowa Clinic has physicians and providers practicing in Altoona, Ankeny, Indianola, Johnston, Urbandale, Waukee and West Des Moines.

Our physicians are board certified in family medicine and are capable of treating a variety of complex pediatric, adolescent and adult medical issues. Our goal is to provide personal care for the whole family, from infants to the elderly. We consider ourselves to be partners in your health care. We strongly emphasize preventative medicine, encouraging patients to make healthy food choices and to be active in their daily lives. We work hard to see every patient when they need to be seen, on the same day they call, if necessary. We want our office to have a friendly, family-like atmosphere and we pride ourselves on treating patients with respect and dignity.

Conditions For Family Medicine

There are plenty of conditions that are treatable through our family medicine division. From diabetes to mental health, The Iowa Clinic has the resources you need to live a healthier life. Here are some of the conditions we treat:

1. Well child and well adult exams, including newborns through the lifespan

2. Comprehensive evaluation and management of chronic/complex conditions, such as

diabetes, hypertension, depression/anxiety/ hypothyroidism

3. Acute illness

4. Preventative medicine and guidance on healthy lifestyle choices

5. Evaluation of other conditions: like rashes/moles; difficulty or pain with muscles and

joints

If specialty care is required, your family doctor can additionally:
Provide a doctor’s referral to the correct specialist within The Iowa Clinic.
Provide the specialist with important information concerning your care and past health.
