About Wanakee Carr, MD
Wanakee Carr, MD moved to Des Moines and joined The Iowa Clinic in 2022 after practicing in the Quad Cities for three and a half years. Originally from the Des Moines area, she is excited to serve patients in the community she grew up in.
Dr. Carr fell in love with obstetrics and gynecology as a third-year medical student at The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She enjoys the combination of long-term patient care and surgical care that OB/GYN offers. She considers it a great privilege to be entrusted with delivering new life into the world.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Carr enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants and traveling. If she were not a physician, she might have been a photojournalist or photographer.
