Your Experience

Patient experience is of the utmost importance to us. At The Iowa Clinic, we do everything we can to ensure the process is easy for you.

Pre-Visit Check-In

We are committed to improving your Iowa Clinic experience with pre-visit registration.

How it Works:

  • Provide your email address and/or mobile number during the scheduling process.
  • Up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled visit, you will receive a text message or an email inviting you to check in for your appointment.
  • This process will include answering a few questions, signing some forms and you can even pay your balance. All steps that will make your visit to the doctor more efficient.
  • This is secure and can be done on your time, from the privacy of a smart phone, tablet or computer.
  • When you arrive for your visit, simply check-in at the kiosk (if one is available), or let the front desk know you've arrived. That's it!

During Your Appointment

We make every effort to ensure your experience with us exceeds your expectations. Should you need a chaperone during your appointment, please ask the nurse.

Post-Visit Patient Survey

At The Iowa Clinic, we are patient-focused and strive to provide excellence in healthcare. It is our goal to provide an exceptional experience to every patient. To do this, we rely on feedback from our patient surveys.

In order to better understand how our providers are doing and where changes need to be made, we listen to feedback from our patients. One such form of feedback comes from Phreesia (pre-visit check-in) patient satisfaction surveys sent after a completed appointment.

The survey we send out includes a total of 6 questions. Our Quality team communicates these results to our staff, and each provider receives reports for review and follow-up.

Star Ratings

We believe in being transparent about our patient's feedback. That's why we display our patient's scores from the surveys on every provider's page. This 0-5 star visual scale comes from the mean Net Promoter Scores (0-10) divided by 20.

Our providers receive reports about these patient surveys each month. Each quarter, the star ratings for the prior 3 months are updated on our provider's profile pages. These will only display for providers who have received 30 or more surveys. Providers need at least 30 surveys to be statistically viable.

How it Works:

  • Following your appointment, you'll receive a text message with a link to a survey. It will come from 866.451.2389.
  • The survey consists of 6 questions and an opportunity to share your overall feedback on your appointment.
