About Al Valmadrid, MD

Al Valmadrid, MD is a plastic surgeon who joined The Iowa Clinic to bring a unique blend of Midwest values, Southern hospitality and Beverly Hills expertise to patient care. Drawn to plastic surgery for its versatility, Dr. Valmadrid enjoys helping people of all ages and backgrounds and finds it most rewarding to see patients recover successfully and feel confident and happy after surgery. His patient care philosophy centers on safety first, with an emphasis on thoughtful decision-making, thorough preparation and achieving the best possible outcomes.

Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Valmadrid completed medical school and an integrated plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville before beginning his career in aesthetic plastic surgery in Beverly Hills, California. Outside of work, he is a performing violinist and enjoys calisthenics workouts. If he weren't practicing medicine, his passion for music may have led him down a different path — he founded an orchestra at just 19 years old and was the grand prize winner of the 2024 Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition.
