About Andrew Wishy, DO
Dr. Andrew Wishy is a vascular surgeon who joined The Iowa Clinic after hearing about its strong sense of camaraderie, commitment to exceptional patient care, and dedication to serving the community.
Dr. Wishy chose vascular surgery because it challenges him to combine critical thinking with creativity to develop individualized treatment plans for patients facing complex vascular conditions. His patient care philosophy is rooted in evidence-based medicine delivered in a safe, stepwise approach that keeps patients' goals at the center of every treatment decision. He believes in partnering with patients to develop thoughtful care plans that prioritize both quality outcomes and long-term health.
He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University before completing an integrated vascular surgery residency through UC Davis Medical Center and David Grant Medical Center. He is board certified in Vascular Surgery, a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), and a Fellow of both the Society for Vascular Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing and watching a variety of sports, and spending time outdoors. In addition to his professional baseball career, he is also an accomplished pianist.
