About Audrey Ko, MD

Audrey Ko, MD is a board-certified oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon who joined The Iowa Clinic to provide specialized care that helps patients restore both function and confidence. Dr. Ko specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid surgery, lacrimal and orbital surgery, and non-surgical facial rejuvenation using injected neurotoxins and laser resurfacing. She finds it most rewarding to combine surgical expertise with compassionate, patient-centered care.

Originally earning a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona, Dr. Ko received her medical degree from the University of Iowa before completing an ophthalmology residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the number one program in the country.  She then completed an ASOPRS accredited oculofacial plastic surgery fellowship at the Shiley Eye Institute at University of California San Diego. 

Outside of patient care, she continues to serve as an adjunct assistant professor with the University of Iowa, teaching medical students and ophthalmology residents in Des Moines. An accomplished researcher and educator, Dr. Ko has authored numerous book chapters, published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and remains committed to advancing the field through education, innovation and mentorship.
