About Catherine Coyne, MD

Catherine Coyne, MD is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon who joined The Iowa Clinic for its strong sense of teamwork and commitment to patient-centered care. Originally board-certified in general surgery, Dr. Coyne chose to further her training in Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery. She finds it most rewarding to solve complex problems and perform intricate procedures that help patients feel whole again after accidents or cancer.

An Arizona native, Dr. Coyne played Division III college basketball at The University of Redlands and remains an avid fan of the NCAA and WNBA basketball. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending Hawkeye sporting events, and taking advantage of Iowa’s four seasons with outdoor activities year-round. If she weren’t in medicine, she would pursue her passion for the game by coaching women’s basketball at a collegiate level.
