About Jennifer Abler, DO
Jennifer Abler, DO joined The Iowa Clinic Family Medicine department in 2023 because of the special community of doctors and healthcare professionals that make up TIC. She sees the unique ability that TIC has to make improvements to patient care efficiently and to navigate a quickly changing medical healthcare landscape smoothly. She specialized in Family Medicine because she loves being able to work with people at all ages and in all stages of life and feels caring for a person through a trajectory of life rather than a point in time is beneficial for both her and her patients. She also enjoys performing in-office procedures and getting to form meaningful and lasting relationships with her patients and their families. She loves treating babies through grandparents, and everyone in between!
An Iowa native, Dr. Abler is a frequent traveler – having traveled to 16 countries and nearly all 50 states. She traveled to Guatemala on two medical mission trips with DOCARE, providing medical care in these underserved areas. Outside of work, Dr. Abler enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children, Jackson and Lola. They enjoy cooking together, reading, riding bikes and the watching the kids with their many activities! Before entering medical school, Dr. Abler was on track to become a high school science teacher and would have continued into that profession if she didn’t become a doctor. She still feels like an educator at heart, which is why she loves to educate her patients and guide them through their health journey!
