About Tara Reinders, PT
Tara Reinders, PT received her doctorate of physical therapy degree from Des Moines University in 2007. Prior to joining The Iowa Clinic, she managed the physical therapy department at McFarland Clinic in Iowa Falls. In 2012, she decided she wanted to get back to the Des Moines area. Coming from a physician owned practice like McFarland, Tara knew that she would like The Iowa Clinic because of continuity of care and the vested interest physicians/providers have in their patients. From 2012-2017, Tara served as the supervisor of The Iowa Clinic Physical Therapy Department. In 2017, Tara became the manager of the Physical Therapy Department. Since 2012, she has grown her department from three physical therapists to fifteen. She feels blessed to have been able bring on board talented therapists that have a passion for what they do. Due to this growth, the Physical Therapy Department is able to offer a wide range of physical therapy services at two different locations.
Past personal college sports injuries are what got Tara interested in physical therapy. After completing an internship in London while in college, she was able to see how physical therapists are able to build great relationships with their patients and how rewarding it is to help someone get back to doing activities that they love. Tara incorporates several techniques in her practice such as dry needling, manipulation/mobilizations, modalities, cupping, ASTYM, and exercise.
In her free time, Tara loves to travel and spend time outdoors doing activities such as boating, biking, hiking, and jogging. She and her husband, Andy, have two kids, Hailey (6) and Will (3) aka “Wild Bill”.
