About Demi O'Brien, MD

Dr. Demi O’Brien is a family medicine physician who joined The Iowa Clinic, drawn to its physician-owned model and its focus on truly looking out for the health of the patient, rather than simply addressing issues as they arise.

Dr. O’Brien chose family medicine because she enjoys the variety of conditions and ages she gets to care for, making every day different and interesting. She especially values the opportunity to care for patients and their families over time and finds it rewarding to build relationships where patients feel comfortable and heard.

Dr. O’Brien's clinical interests include family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health and obesity management. She has also been involved in quality improvement and research throughout her training and was recognized with the Resident Teaching Award and Resident Quality Improvement Award in 2023.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, playing board games, reading, building Legos, traveling, visiting national parks and spending time with her dog, Gertie.
