About Kimberly Hwang, DO

Dr. Kimberly Hwang is a hospitalist who joined The Iowa Clinic after completing her residency in Des Moines, where she had the opportunity to work closely with many Iowa Clinic providers. She was consistently impressed by their approachability, support and dedication to their patients.

Dr. Hwang chose internal medicine because she enjoys the variety and the opportunity to care for patients with unique conditions every day. She finds it especially rewarding to connect with patients during what can be uncertain and challenging times, care for them throughout their hospital stay and help ensure they have the resources they need after discharge. Her patient care philosophy centers on partnership, listening to patients' values and concerns while providing the education and information they need to make informed decisions about their health.

Dr. Hwang was recognized as a chief medical resident and was a member of both Psi Sigma Alpha and Sigma Sigma Phi honor societies during medical school. Outside of work, she enjoys running, exploring new foods and spending time with her husband and dogs.
