About Michael Dennis, DO

Dr. Michael Dennis is a rheumatologist who joined The Iowa Clinic because of its compassionate providers, collaborative culture, and strong reputation for delivering exceptional patient care. After completing his internal medicine residency in Des Moines, he knew he wanted to return to the area to practice.

Dr. Dennis chose rheumatology because of the specialty's complexity and the opportunity to care for patients with conditions that can affect nearly every system in the body. He enjoys collaborating with physicians across multiple specialties while taking the time to listen to patients and develop individualized treatment plans. His patient care philosophy is built on ensuring patients understand their diagnosis so they can make informed decisions that are realistic and sustainable for their lives.

Dr. Dennis earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University after completing a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the same institution. He completed his Internal Medicine residency through the University of Iowa - Des Moines before pursuing a Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Outside of work, Dr. Dennis enjoys spending time with his family, watching football and hockey, playing golf and attending Iowa Wild games.
