About Michael McDonald, PA-C
Michael McDonald, PA-C, joined The Iowa Clinic Neurological & Spinal Surgery Department with a deep appreciation for the complexity and resilience of the human body, especially the neurological system. He was drawn to neurosurgery after witnessing the short- and long-term effects that neurological catastrophes can have not only on a patient’s health, but also on the lives of their loved ones. Michael chose The Iowa Clinic for its collaborative, patient-centered approach and is proud to provide this same level of compassionate care to patients during some of their most critical moments.
Originally from southern Idaho, Michael served in the United States Marine Corps, where he completed his undergraduate degree and competed in Division I wrestling. Outside of medicine, he is passionate about both physical and mental wellness and enjoys staying active with his wife through hiking, biking, and regular exercise.
