Dr. Samuel Cook joined The Iowa Clinic, drawn to The Iowa Clinic’s physician-led model, strong reputation in the community and commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Dr. Cook believes in taking a thorough approach to each patient’s care and works to ensure they understand their diagnosis and treatment options. He chose rheumatology because of the complex problem-solving involved in the specialty and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients. He finds it especially rewarding to help patients improve their quality of life and return to the activities that matter most to them.

Dr. Cook was honored with the Rising Star Clinical Excellence Award in June 2026 in recognition of his clinical excellence, professionalism, teamwork and commitment to patient-centered care. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants and making coffee.
