What is Infusion Therapy?
Infusion therapy delivers medication, fluids or nutrients directly into your bloodstream through an IV. It's often used when a condition can’t be treated effectively with oral medications.
At The Iowa Clinic Infusion Center, patients receive care in a comfortable, outpatient setting with a team focused on safety, comfort and personalized treatment. From chronic illness management to cancer care, infusion therapy plays a vital role in helping patients feel better and live healthier lives.
Now offering chemotherapy in our West Des Moines Infusion Center
Chemo is the most well-known cancer treatment and is effective in treating many different cancers. Chemo drugs can be delivered in a variety of ways to target the type, location and stage of your cancer — destroying the fast-growing cells before they replicate and spread. The Iowa Clinic offers the convenience of labs, imaging and infusions now all in one location.
How do I prepare for infusion therapy?
We want to help make your infusion therapy appointment run as smoothly as possible. Here are something you can do to help.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Wear comfortable clothes.
