Narcolepsy

Although the exact reason is not known, narcolepsy appears to be a disorder of the part of the brain that controls sleep. Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder defined by constant sleepiness and a tendency to sleep at inappropriate times. If you find yourself nodding off/falling asleep sitting in a chair in the middle of the day, while driving a motor vehicle or during a conversation you, should seek help from a sleep specialist.
