About Paul Escher, MD
Dr. Paul Escher is an otolaryngologist who joined The Iowa Clinic looking for a place where he could practice the full breadth of ENT while making a meaningful impact in the community. After completing his residency in Iowa City, he and his family were drawn to Des Moines, and The Iowa Clinic immediately felt like the right fit.
His patient care philosophy centers on helping patients understand all of their treatment options, both medical and surgical, so they can make informed decisions based on their individual goals and priorities. He believes the best care comes from partnering with patients to find the approach that makes the most sense for them.
Dr. Escher earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota before completing his residency in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, where he received the University of Iowa Otolaryngology PGY-2 Teaching Award. Outside of work, he enjoys running, biking, watching Formula 1 and IndyCar racing, and spending time with his wife and children.
