About Paul Otteson, PA-C, CAQ-derm
Paul Otteson, PA-C joined The Iowa Clinic Grimes Dermatology with a strong background in medical dermatology and a passion for helping patients better understand and care for their skin. After graduating from Duke University, Paul began his career with the National Health Service Corps in North Carolina before transitioning to the University of Iowa to specialize in dermatology.
Paul believes the skin offers unique insight into overall health and enjoys the opportunity to make a visible difference in his patients’ lives. He finds it most rewarding when he can help a patient finally find relief from a chronic skin condition or guide someone through a new diagnosis, such as skin cancer.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys curling, traveling, hiking, fishing, pheasant hunting, playing pickleball, and spending time with his wife and two children. If he weren’t a provider, he might have been a professional baker or chocolatier.
