Employer Health Services

group of hands meeting togetherSmoking, poor diet, lack of exercise and alcoholism cost employers hundreds of millions of dollars yearly in higher premiums, lost productivity and increased absenteeism. The Iowa Clinic offers a variety of healthcare services to employers designed to drive your healthcare costs down and increase the productivity of employees.

The Facts*:

  • Productivity is associated with an employee's health and lifestyle choices. Employers in the United States spend $226 billion a year on productivity losses due to employee and family-related health issues.
  • Almost 66 percent of the increase in healthcare spending can be attributed to increasingly unhealthy lifestyles.
  • Medical expenses for obese employees are estimated to be 42 percent higher than those of a person with a healthy weight.
  • The productivity of non-exercising employees decreases by 50 percent during the last 2 hours of the workday.

The Iowa Clinic Employer Health Services program offers a variety of options for your company. Below is a list, but our team is willing to consider any idea you have related to your company’s health and needs.

Executive Health

Proactively protecting the health of your executives protects the health of your business. Invest in the health of your top leaders by arranging comprehensive executive physicals that check for a broad range of health concerns that could harm their health and potentially impact your bottom line.

High-Performance Networks

What is a high performance network? The employer designs their benefit health plan to incentivize employees with a lower copay to see an Iowa Clinic provider. If an employee chooses to see a provider outside of The Iowa Clinic, the employee will pay a higher copay.

The Iowa Clinic has been a leader in the State of Iowa in terms of Wellmark’s Value Index Score (VIS), a measure of quality and outcomes since 2014. Our dedication and commitment to deliver high quality and cost-effective care has led us to a unique partnership with a large Des Moines based company and an insurance company.
