About Juan Mira, MD
Juan Mira, MD joined The Iowa Clinic in 2022 after completing a Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to Fellowship, Dr. Mira completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Florida and earned his Medical Degree at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Mira's passion for multidisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care led him to specialize in surgical oncology. His clinical interests include the treatment of foregut, endocrine, and soft tissue cancers. Dr. Mira is also very passionate about continuous quality improvement in healthcare and he has worked on the implementation of clinical practice guidelines at various healthcare systems.
Originally from Bogota, Colombia, Dr. Mira also enjoys golfing, fishing, and traveling with his family. Although he joins The Iowa Clinic as a newcomer to the Midwest, he shares in our commitment to providing the best possible care to the greater community.
