Patient and Visitor Information

Visitors

Patients should attend their appointment alone if possible to limit the number of people within the clinic. This is for patient safety and the safety of our providers and staff. Visitors are only permitted if assistance is needed or the patient is a minor. 

Mask Usage

Based on CDC recommendations, patients and visitors coming into The Iowa Clinic for appointments are required to wear masks or homemade face coverings. This proactive measure is designed to keep you safe and help reduce potential exposure of infectious individuals with COVID-19 to others.

COVID-19 Updates

Please read important updates about COVID-19. The Iowa Clinic is dedicated to providing a safe environment for you and your family. We understand the need for different levels of healthcare will continue and want to assure you we are here to take care of your needs.

Additional COVID-19 safety precautions include:

  • All patients and visitors will be screened for fever and lower respiratory symptoms upon entry in all locations. If you exhibit any of these symptoms or if you have either tested positive for COVID-19 or have been tested and are awaiting test results, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment for a later date.

  • Building entrances at our West Lakes location will be limited to three – north (Entrance 1, well patient entrance only), south (Entrance 4, Urgent Care) and east (Entrance 3, well patient entrance only)

Urgent Care

For the safety of our patients, providers and staff, our Urgent Care is now by appointment only. If you have any of the following symptoms, you should make an appointment for Urgent Care:

  • Fever​​​​
  • Cough
  • Respiratory issues
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Vomiting
  • Muscle aches
  • Loss of smell or taste

Once you’ve scheduled an appointment, you should complete the pre-registration process online. Upon arrival, remain in your vehicle and notify us via phone that you’ve arrived. For safety reasons, we are no longer allowing walk-ins or waiting in our waiting area.

Primary Care

Patients who haven’t had close contact with a known positive patient and/or you’re not experiencing loss of taste and smell and you’re not awaiting COVID-19 test results can see one of our Primary Care providers within any of our nine Family Medicine  or Pediatrics locations. Those patients that are experiencing symptoms are seen in the afternoons to ensure proper cleaning and disinfecting measures are in place. Unsure of where you should go for care? The Iowa eClinic

Patients are encouraged to use The Iowa eClinic for virtual visits whenever possible. The Iowa eClinic is also available via The Iowa Clinic mobile app. Read more about what qualifies for an eVisit.
